  • Login credentials via secure OAuth (e.g., Gmail, Outlook)
  • Billing information (for Pro users, managed via a secure third-party payment provider)

b. Email Content (For Summarization)

With your permission, we securely access:

  • Subject lines, sender info, and content from newsletters and blogs in your inbox
  • Metadata (timestamps, source domains)

Note: We only access content necessary to generate summaries. Personal, non-newsletter emails are ignored by design.

c. Usage Data

We may collect:

  • IP address, device type, browser type
  • Interactions (e.g., taps, swipes, viewed summaries)
  • Referrer data (how you found us)

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Deliver personalized summaries of newsletter/blog content
  • Enhance and personalize your experience
  • Monitor and improve app performance
  • Respond to user support requests
  • Process billing (for Pro plan)
  • Send service updates, onboarding content, and feature announcements

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for advertising.

3. Data Processing & AI Summarization

  • Your content is processed via AI models for summarization purposes only.
  • Summarized content may be used anonymously and in aggregate to improve model accuracy.
  • All processing happens under strict access controls and secure environments.

4. Data Storage & Security

  • OAuth 2.0 for secure email access (we never store your passwords)
  • Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
  • Regular vulnerability audits
  • Access restricted to essential services only

5. Third-Party Services

  • Google/Gmail or Microsoft OAuth for inbox access
  • Stripe or equivalent for secure payment processing
  • Cloud storage providers (e.g., AWS/GCP) for encrypted data storage

Each service provider adheres to their own privacy and compliance policies.

6. Your Rights & Choices

  • Access your data
  • Delete your account and all associated data
  • Revoke email permissions at any time
  • Download your summarized content (on request)

7. Data Retention

  • Summarized data is stored as long as your account is active.
  • If you delete your account, all personal and email data is permanently deleted within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

InboxBites is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we become aware of such data, it will be deleted promptly.

9. International Users

InboxBites operates globally, and your data may be processed outside your home country. We ensure compliance with GDPR and other relevant data protection laws.

📘 Use of Google User Data – Limited Use Disclosure

InboxBites’ use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

  • InboxBites accesses user data obtained through Gmail and/or Google Photos APIs solely to provide personalized experiences for the authenticated user.
  • We do not use any Gmail or Photos API data to develop, improve, or train generalized or non-personalized AI/ML models.
  • All user data is accessed and processed only to generate summaries and bite-sized insights from the user’s emails or photos, strictly for individual consumption.
  • InboxBites does not transfer, share, or store this data for any purpose beyond the immediate delivery of app features to the authenticated user.
  • Data processing is performed in a secure and controlled environment, and no user data is exposed to any external systems or third parties.
  • Users maintain full control over their data and can disconnect their Google account at any time via Google Account Security Settings.

InboxBites ensures complete compliance with Google's verification and security practices, including:

  • Google Workspace API User Data Policy
  • Google Photos API Developer Policy

InboxBites does not use restricted Google API scopes for advertising, marketing, or selling user data under any circumstance.

10. Policy Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will notify you via email or in-app. Continued use of InboxBites means you accept the updated policy.
